Rebecca Black Death Threats Spark Police Investigation

Police have launched an investigation after two death threats were made against Rebecca Black'.

The 13-year-old singer received the threats in March, shortly after her single 'Friday' became a YouTube sensation.

Anaheim Police spokesman Rick Martinez told Reuters the threats “were related to getting the music off the Internet or they were going to kill her”.

Both threats – one via email and the other by phone – were made to Black's production and management companies in Los Angeles.

Martinez added: "We can't validate how serious they are, but we do take it seriously.”

Last week it was announced that Black's 'Friday' had earned more YouTube views than videos by Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
