The video for Lady Gaga's new single 'Born This Way' has been described as her “love letter to the homosexual community”.
The video, which is expected to premiere later this month, was filmed during a 72-hour shoot in New York in January and edited earlier this month.
Hollywood Life reports that the Jonas Akerlund-directed video includes costumes from fashion house Thierry Mugler, whose creative director Nicola Formichetti is also the singer's stylist.
A source said: “She approaches herself as Gaga in the gender bending video and there are references to Jo Calderone, the male model she portrayed in the September issue of Vogue Hommes Japan.”
'Born This Way' will now debut on Friday (February 11) instead of the previously announced date of February 13.
The singer will perform the track, taken from her forthcoming album of the same name, at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
