Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Noel Gallagher may be set to become the new American X Factor judges, it has been reported.
TV boss Simon Cowell is said to have asked the pair last week to join the new programme in a bid to trump American Idol.
''Simon wants to go one better than American Idol, who have Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler, and has set his heart on British rock 'n' roll royalty - with Noel and Mick top of his shopping list," a source told The Sun.
The source added: ''Noel's manager met up for early talks and there is serious wedge on offer.''
Cowell's American version of The X Factor is due to launch next year. UK judge Cheryl Cole has already been linked to the programme.
Meanwhile, Miles Kane has revealed that Noel Gallagher has begun recording his debut solo album.
