The Kooks, Suggs of Madness and Orbital have recorded a silent song in an attempt to prevent the X Factor from dominating this year's Christmas chart.
The track, a new version of John Cage's '4,33', also features Pendulum, Guillemots frontman Fyfe Dangerfield and Unkle's James Lavelle.
The musicians came together to support the campaign – dubbed Cage Against The Machine – in London yesterday (December 6).
Producer Paul Epworth oversaw the production during the 'performance', reports BBC News.
The single will be released on Wall of Sound Records on December 13.
All the proceeds from sales will go to five charities - The British Tinnitus Association (BTA), Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) ,Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy ,Youth Music and Sound And Music.
'4'33' is currently 8/1 with bookies to take the top spot later this month, while the eventual winner of The X Factor is favourite.
