Kings Of Leon have revealed that they had never watched Glee before refusing to allow their music to appear on the show.
In August, the band surprised fans when they revealed that they had turned down an offer from producers to work with the hit US TV show.
At the time, they said it was because they didn't want to be seen as sell-outs.
But Matthew Followill has now revealed that the real reason they rejected the offer was because they hadn't seen the programme.
"Everyone took it so seriously when we said no to Glee because it's everyone's favourite show,” he told Spinner.
“But we just had never really seen the show, we didn't know what it's about.”
He added: "They just said, 'Hey, do you want your music to be on Glee,' and we said, 'No, I don't think so. We don't want to'.”
In September, producers denied approaching Kings Of Leon over the show.
