The Zutons' Dave McCabe Sentenced Over Nightclub Assault

The Zutons frontman Dave McCabe has been sentenced for assaulting a man outside a Liverpool night spot.

The 29-year-old singer head-butted Peter Appleby during an alcohol-fuelled altercation on February 21.

McCabe denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm, claiming he was acting in self-defence, but was found guilty last month.

He has been ordered to embark on 150 hours of unpaid work and pay Mr Appleby £1.500 in compensation, reports BBC News.

Speaking outside Liverpool Crown Court, McCabe’s lawyer said his client regretted the incident.
