Damon Albarn has revealed that he was disappointed when Gorillaz were beaten two number one on the UK album chart by Boyzone.
The cartoon band's latest effort 'Plastic Beach' had been expected to take the top spot back in March, but missed out to the the Irish band's 'Brother'.
“I was a bit f*cking gutted that Plastic Beach only got to two in America,” Albarn told MTV News. “And I was obviously a bit gutted that it only got to two in England. Against f*cking Boyzone!
But he went on to say that he was not that upset, adding: “I’ve had a lot of successful number twos over the years.”
Meanwhile, Gorillaz are set to embark on a UK arena tour next month. For more details, check out Gigwise Gig Tickets.
