Katy Perry And Russell Brand Marry In India

Katy Perry has married comedian Russell Brand at a private ceremony in India, it's been confirmed.

The couple, who met last year, tied the knot at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort near the Ranthambhore.

The service was conducted by a Christian minister and friend of Perry’s family, and featured traditional Indian clothes, reports BBC News.

A spokesperson said the couple’s closest family and friends were in attendance.

Perry had earlier appealed for privacy, telling her followers on the social-networking website Twitter that it was the “greatest gift you can give us”.

Perry and Brand began dating shortly after the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009, which the comedian hosted.
