Eminem Leads Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber With American Music Awards Nominations

Eminem leads the nominations at this year's American Music Awards ahead of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

The rapper has been shortlisted for five prizes, including Best Album for his 2010 LP, 'Recovery'.

Eminem will also go head-to-head with Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kei$ha for the Artist Of The Year award.

Bieber has a total of four nominations, while Lady Gaga has two. B.o.B, Ke$ha, and Perry are all shortlised for three awards.

Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Sade are all nominated for Best R&B Female, while Chris Brown has been shortlised for the male equivalent.

Nominations are determined by a combination of radio airplay, social network activity and online popularity.

The winners, which are voted for by the public, are due to be announced next month.
