It’s hard to believe it, but a whole eight years have now passed since The Libertines burst into the public’s consciousness with their 2002 debut album ‘Up The Bracket’.
Propelled by an infectious punk spirit, which blurred the line between themselves and their fans, the band went on to become the inspiration for an entire generation, before their acrimonious just two years later.
But now Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassell and Gary Powell are back, and scheduled to play a one-off gig in London on Wednesday (August 25), before appearing at this weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals.
