Campag Velocet have announced on their official website that they are splitting up after twelve years together.
A statement on the bands forum by Pete Voss reads: “I'm sorry to announce that Campag have split. I was informed of this on 25th of March by the band.”
“It's a shame it has had to end but we have had a twelve year run. Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for all the support & belief. Shepherds Bush Hall this Friday will be our last gig. See ya there. Special thanks to Pablo & all you Harsh Sharks.”
A further post on the forum, from fellow band member Arge, says: “I'm afraid I'm going to have to confirm this one (apart from the March bit - I think Pete meant April) - It just feels like the right time now to try something new - unfortunately the last album did not receive the same kind of support from radio and press that you Sharks have given.”
“For that we will all be forever grateful. We all have plans for music in the near future, so I hope we will be able to bring at least some of you along with us - kind of a part 2,3,4 +5. Many thanks again + hope to see some of you Friday.”
The band released their second critically acclaimed album, ‘Its Beyond Our Control’, in July 2004.
