Simon Cowell has signed Labrinth, the producer behind Tinie Tempah's hit 'Pass Out', to his music label, Syco.
The 21-year-old artist will join Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle on the label, which is normally reserved for Cowell's TV signings.
In addition to joining Syco's solo roster, Labrinth will also help discover and nurture new talent under the imprint, Odd Child / Syco.
"This is a crucial moment in my career, I've always been an ambitious and driven person and Simon has given me a bigger playing field,” he said.
“I'm gonna show Uncle Sy a whole new world!”
It is the first time in six years that Cowell's label has signed an artist unrelated to his TV shows.
Labrinth's first single will be 'Let The Sunshine', which is due to be released later this summer. An album will arrive later in the year.
