The Gaslight Anthem have said they are not feeling any pressure on the release of their new album, 'American Slang'.
Guitarist Alex Rosamilia told Gigwise they were determined to write the record “we really like”, rather than cater for their growing fan base.
“Before this it was just 'OK – we'll put out a record',” Rosamilia said. “Now it's 'OK – put out a record, no wait, they want to hear something specific'.
“How do you predict the future? So we decided we won't predict the future. We'll just write a record that we really like, and hope everyone comes on board.”
The guitarist added that 'American Slang' would have been “less honest” if the band had tried to alter their sound.
The Gaslight Anthem's third album, which was produced by Ted Hutt, was released on Monday (June 14).
