Dizzee Rascal has described ex-footballer John Barnes as “the original England rapper”.
Barnes lent his vocals to New Order’s ‘World In Motion’ in 1990, which is widely regarded as one of the most popular World Cup songs.
Rascal, who raps on the new song ‘Shout For England’, praised the footballer and said he wasn’t fazed by Barnes’ legacy.
"Barnesy's the original England rapper but I feel absolutely no pressure,” he told The Sun.
‘Shout For England’, which also features Gavin and Stacey Star James Corden, is available as a digital download from today (June 9).
The pair are donating all of their royalties from sales of the song to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
