Green Day covered The Rolling Stones song ‘Rip This Joint’ during an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
The band added an extra punk edge to the track, which featured on the Stones’ 1972 album, ‘Exile On Main Street’.
The US TV show is staging a week of special performance in honour of the album’s re-issue this month.
The Friday edition of the programme will also feature a special presentation of the new documentary Stones in Exile.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has hinted that the band could record new material.
Meanwhile, Mick Jagger and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong are both in contention in Gigwise's search for the Greatest Rock Singer Ever.
