M.I.A: 'Justin Bieber Is An Assault To My Eyes'

M.I.A has hit out Justin Bieber, describing the teen pop sensation’s music videos as an “assault to my eye and senses”.

The singer’s comments come after her video for new single ‘Born Free’ was deemed too controversial.

The nine-minute clip, released last month, featured graphic scenes of execution and sex, and was pulled by YouTube.

In an interview with the NME, M.I.A joked that 16-year-old Bieber’s videos were worse than hers.

"I find the new Justin Bieber video more violent and more of an assault to my eyes and senses than what I've made," she said.

The singer added that it “baffles” her as to why her video triggered such a backlash.

‘Born Free’ is the first single to be taken from M.I.A’s as-yet-untitled new album.
