Poison singer Bret Michaels has suffered a “setback” following his recent brain haemorrhage.
A medical update said test results had indicated that Michaels may have a lack of sodium in the body, which can trigger seizures.
However, Michaels, who is still in intensive care, is in “positive spirits”, a statement said.
"Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery," it added.
More information is due to be released next Monday (May 3).
The 47-year-old singer was taken to hospital earlier this month complaining of a severe headache.
Doctors later found evidence of bleeding onto the surface of the brain stem.
