American Idiot, the musical adaptation of Green Day’s career, is dominating at the box office on Broadway.
The show took $777,860 in its opening week - up more than $300,000 on the previous week’s preview takings.
However, according to the Wall Street Journal, not every show in the opening week was sold out.
Meanwhile, Green Day are set to release an album along with the production’s cast on May 10.
‘American Idiot: Cast Album’ will feature songs from the band’s same-titled album as well as recent LP, ’21 Century Breakdown’.
As previously reported on Gigwise, the musical at New York's St James Theatre tells the story of three frustrated youths as they search for meaning post-9/11.
The production has received a mixed response from critics, with the New York Post saying it was “only a breath away from an American Idol".
