The Fisherman's Friends, a group of Cornish sailors, have secured a big record deal with Universal.
The 10-men group, who have been together for fifteen years, attracted the attention of a holidaying A&R in a local pub.
Their debut album of sea shanties - recorded in a 15th-century church in St Kew, Cornwall - will be released next month.
The group's previous albums - 'Suck 'Em And Sea' and 'Another Mouthful From...' - were both released independently.
The Fisherman's Friends have also been added to the line-up for this summer's Glastonbury Festival in Somerset.
Founding member Jeremy Brown told the BBC: "In Cornish pubs there is a tradition of singing.
"We just all got together with the intention of learning all the words instead of just knowing the first verse and the last verse and making up the bit in the middle."
