Iron Maiden have completed recording their 15th studio album, according to producer Kevin Shirley.
The heavy metal legends have decamped to the Bahamas with Shirley – aka The Caveman' – and on Friday he posted an update on progress via his official website.
“Last day in the studio today and all the music recording is done!” he wrote on his diary.
“There's still work to do, but the band portion is complete and in the can, so to speak. Home tomorrow to see my beautiful family, just in time for Valentine's Day.......”
Drummer Nicko McBrain said in an interview last November that Maiden are hoping to release the record in early 2011, however, there is speculation that this may be brought forward.
Iron Maiden headline Sonisphere Festival alongside Rammstein at the Knebworth event which runs from July 30th to August 1st 2010.
Singer Bruce Dickinson said of the headline slot: “Knebworth has been the home of so many legendary concerts going back many years it really will be a privilege to play there.
"We enjoy the camaraderie of playing great festivals and are very much looking forward to getting back out to do some shows next summer and, as it will be over two years since we played the UK, we will certainly be looking to deliver a memorable and spectacular night for our fans!”
