Doug Fieger, frontman of The Knack, has died in California at the age of 57.
The singer, who co-wrote the band's renowned hit 'My Sharona', passed away on Sunday (February 14) following a battle with cancer.
In a message on their website, The Knack said: “Our hearts are broken, we will miss you Doug.”
Formed in 1978, The Knack were described as the “next Beatles” following the chart-topping success of 'My Sharona' in 1979.
Inspired by an ex-girlfriend, the song was re-released in 1994 and was known to be on former US president George W Bush's iPod.
