Vampire Weekend Confirmed For Glastonbury Festival

Emily Eavis has confirmed that Vampire Weekend will be playing Glastonbury Festival on Friday June 25th.

The New York band dropped into Lauren Laverne's BBC6music radio show this morning, where they performed tracks off their album 'Contra', when the news arose.

On Twitter, Laverne wrote: “Vampire Weekend's request to play Glasto has been answered - RT @emilyeavis @laverneshow YES, FRIDAY 25th?!”

The radio host then tweeted: “Does this mean I've helped book TWO of your headliners??? I need to start taking commission!!! XX”

To which Eavis responded: “keeps things simple doesn't it..!”

The only confirmed headliner for Glastonbury's 40th anniversary this June is U2.
