Marilyn Manson believes the UK Christmas chart battle with the X Factor should be a yearly event.
Following the successful Facebook campaign to get Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name' to number one, the goth-rocker – real name Brian Warner - has put Nine Inch Nails' name forward in 2010.
He said: “I don't have anything against Simon Cowell and The X Factor. It's just nice to see real music at the top of the charts.
"Somebody should try to do it next year. Can I suggest one of Nine Inch Nails' best tracks called Star****ers Inc? We should try to make it a yearly thing."
Rage Against The Machine scored the Yuletide top spot after shifting 502,000 copies of 'Killing In The Name' compared to the 450,000 units of Joe McElderry's 'The Climb'.
Despite McElderry securing the number one the following week, the Christmas chart failure was a serious chink in the X Factor armour with McElderry dropping to number two yesterday after just one week on top.
