Marilyn Manson has promised that his next album will be more “badass” and “self abusive”.
The rocker says that leaving his label Interscope Records has given him much more creative freedom and has high hopes for the record.
He tells Metal Hammer: “We’ve just been released from our record contract with Interscope so I think a lot of the creative control on which my hands were tied on a lot of choices - the music videos - things like that.
“So we started writing new songs on the road - a bit like (David Bowie’s) ‘Aladdin Sane’ - I think people can expect a new record a lot sooner than expected.”
Asked what he hopes the album will sound like, Manson added: “Yeah, I think it will be more badass , I think it’s going to be more romantic maybe. Self abusive.”
Marilyn Manson hits the UK next for shows in London, Birmingham Manchester and Nottingham.
