Spandau Ballet made their live comeback in Dublin last night and dedicated a song to the late Boyzone singer Stephen Gately.
Entering the stage to screams from the 9,000 strong crowd at The O2, singer Tony Hadley said: "Hello. 20 years, it took a bit of time. But we've come back."
The ageing pop stars performed a set crammed with the obligatory hits 'Gold' and 'Through The Barricades' in front of a screen showing a montage of clips from the eighties heyday.
Almost predictably, the last song 'True' was dedicated to Stephen Gately who was born and grew up in Dublin.
According to the Daily Mail, Hadley told the crowd: “I'd like to dedicate our last song to a mate of mine, Stephen Gately. He was a good drinking mate of mine.”
