Jay-Z has spoken for the first time about Lil Mama's stage invasion during his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month.
Lil Mama took to the stage at the end of the rapper and Alicia Keys' performance of 'Empire State Of Mind', but the incident received little attention due to Kanye West's outburst.
In an interview with radio station Hot 97, Jay-Z criticised Lil Mama and compared her reaction to West, who interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.
"To interrupt that moment for us, I don't think that was the right thing to do," the rapper said.
"It was a lot of planning that went into that performance. To disrupt that was outta line,"
Lil Mama has since apologised and said she chose to invade the stage because she was overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, Jay-Z has topped the US Billboard album chart for a second week with his latest album 'The Blueprint 3'.
