Tributes will be paid across the Glastonbury weekend to Michael Jackson, festival organisers have said.
Organiser Emily Eavis said on micro-blogging website Twitter that she regarded Jackson as a “truly great artist”.
“There will be tributes all over the site, all weekend,” she added.
As previously reported on Gigwise, fans already on site at Worthy Farm began paying their respects to the star as news of his death filtered through last night.
The King of Pop’s music was played across the festival site as fans break out into spontaneous applause.
Gigwise’s Scott Colothan, who is at the event, described the mood as “the most surreal night” he had experienced at a music festival.
Jackson’s shock death looks set to have a major impact on the festival, which is due to officially get under way this morning.
