John Lennon's 'Give Peace A Chance' Lyrics Up For Auction
The lyrics to ‘Give Peace A Chance’ by John Lennon are to go up for auction in London this July.
The handwritten words were presented to comedy writer Gail Renard during Lennon and Yoko Ono’s bed in 1969.
The lyrics form part of a number of items, which are expected to raise upwards of £300,000 at the auction at Christie’s on July 12th.
Renard met Lennon and Ono after visitng their famous bed in at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel and asked for an interview.
The comedy writer ended up spending the remainder of the week with the couple and formed a life long friendship.
According to the BBC, when Lennon presented Renard with the lyrics he said that “one day they will be worth something".
