Martha Wainwright joined The Magic Numbers on stage on Saturday (August 10th) for a special performance at Leicester’s Summer Sundae festival.
Wainwright sang a cover of Lee Hazelwood’s ‘Some Velvet Morning,’ with the band, in tribute to the songwriter who died last week.
Wainwright sang from a lyric sheet during the cover of Hazelwood’s classic song as The Magic Numbers provided the instrumentation.
Hazelwood died last week of cancer at the age of 78 and is held by many as one of the greatest songwriters ever. One of his most famous contributions to music was Nancy Sinatra’s, ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.’
