More about:

As their debut album approaches, Australia’s The Lazy Eyes have released another piece of psych excellence in the form of ‘Starting Over’. Their album Songbook arrives 22 April, and the band have just announced their first-ever UK tour, taking place this May.

Employing as many instruments as possible, The Lazy Eyes have created an immaculate atmosphere on ‘Starting Over’, which the band says came from a jam session that became a demo that became a fan favourite. Like their previous singles, it shows The Lazy Eyes as a band injecting new life into the nostalgia of psych-rock.

The accompanying video borrows from an ‘80s version of Ancient Rome, as collaborator Jesse Taylor Smith says: “the band were super receptive to my idea, so I smeared a heap of Vaseline on my lenses, fired up a fog machine and prepared to start again and again and again”.
