Weird Milk are back today for the first time in longer than we'd care to discuss (last March). Their new song 'Vienna' is the lead single from a forthcoming EP titled We Were Strangers, coming in autumn.
'Vienna' comes as a big hit of Weird Milk-ness: swaggering, staccato guitars that give big FUR and Last Shadow Puppets vibes, the distinctive Alex Griffiths vox and a general air of everything being drenched in a sepia tone.
"‘Vienna’ is a very personal release to me. It was written at a moment in my life where I reached a crossroads and was totally stuck. A few amazing individuals, whom I likened to ‘angels’, swooped into my life to guide me in my time of need. They left their impressions on me, I chose my path and then they each flew away" Alex said of the single.
