GoGo Penguin, Sinead O'Brien and Public Practice are three new names announced for Brighton's The Great Escape 2020. The announcement comes the same week as the showcase puts on its 'First Fifty' gigs this week.

Over 400 artists will eventually be announced for the springtime new music festival, with fifty already in the programme. GoGo Penguin, the experimental jazz band who we called "spine-tingling" live, and the inventive Sinead O'Brien both join the line-up, as well as the post-punk Public Practice.

They join already-announced Do Nothing, Lazarus Kane and Weird Milk on the bill, who will play tonight (13 November) and tomorrow across a series of venues in London. The shows will prove to be a taster of the full showcase.

The Great Escape turns fifteen in 2020, and will take place from 13-16 May in more than thirty venues in the UK's seaside town of Brighton. The event will also host a conference.
