More about:

Synth-pop legend La Roux has returned this evening (31 October) with her first new music since 2014's Trouble In Paradise. The song is the first taste of an LP titled Supervision, coming February 2020.

La Roux, a.k.a Elly Jackson, has been teasing new music since late September, and tonight 'International Woman of Leisure' made its debut as Annie Mac's Hottest Record In The World.

The new tune is classic La Roux in its passionate vocals and ingenious use of synth. There's also a distinctly disco element to this new one, particularly in those Nile Rodgers-esque stabs of electric guitar. Hear it now:

Accompanied by a kaleidoscopic video that gives some serious Austin Powers vibes, the comeback is a sunny interlude to a dreary political backdrop...we're also digging that holographic suit.

La Roux has been absent from the world of music since 2014, though she sang on Tyler, The Creator's 2019 tune 'GONE, GONE/THANK YOU', which featured on this year's IGOR.

Supervision, the full-length in which 'International Woman of Leisure' will feature, will arrive on 7 February 2020 via La Roux's own record label Supercolour.
