Liverpool's Sound City have announced the first artists for their 2020 festival, taking place across the weekend of 1-3 May at Baltic Triangle. Pale Waves will headline with main support from The Blinders and Tim Burgess.

Gigwise favourites Catholic Action and Sophie & The Giants will also perform among more names such as Stealing Sheep, The Lottery Winners, WARGASM, Far Caspian and Abbie Ozard.

With a strong focus on up-and-coming artists, Sound City will enter its thirteenth year in 2020, and tickets for the event will go on sale this Friday 25 October. We had a great time at this year's event.

Sound City+, the conference that runs alongside the festival, will also see hundreds and hundreds of artists and music industry movers and shakers get together to discuss hot topics and new stars.

The Blinders will support first headliners Pale Waves with what will undoubtedly be a rip-roaring set of fan-favourites, while Sophie & The Giants are bound to blow away a new audience of potential fans.

On the announcement, Sound City Managing Director Rebecca Ayres said: "For our 13th year, we will continue to champion the very best sounds the UK has to offer across an incredibly diverse spectrum, as well as reaching out around the world to brilliant artists making a difference."
