After the tantalising release of the cinematic, ethereal ‘It’s Easy Then’, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to see how The Big Moon will follow up the debut of their new sound.

Not only have the band returned today with another brilliant single and a very wholesome visual accompaniment, they have also released details of their new album Walking Like We Do, and are set to hit the road supporting Pixies and Bombay Bicycle Club over the coming months.

Due to be released 10 January 2020 via Fiction Records, the album touches on heavier subject matter than their previous material, and sees the band grasp anxious sentiments and mould them into something triumphant. Vocalist and songwriter Juliette Jackson comments, Walking Like We Do is about being strong in the face of uncertainty, about standing tall even though you’re completely lost and not being afraid of the future because it just keeps on coming.”

Latest single ‘Your Light’ continues in the same vein as ‘It’s Easy Then’; lush harmonies soar above a bed of celestial synths in their more electronic-tinged soundscape, while the familiar sounds of steady percussion and a buzzing bassline drive the track forwards, accompanied by the recognisable honey tones of Jackson’s vocal.

With the stress and anxieties of daily life building up like the plates in your sink, and with a government falling apart in front of our eyes, we need some uplifting now more than ever - and The Big Moon are here to provide the goods. Vocalist and songwriter Juliette Jackson explains the track: “This song is about freeing yourself from all of it, just for a moment. It’s a thanks to the one person or thing in your life that knows how to come in and open your curtains and light up the darkness and restore your strength so that when you clatter back down into the real world you have the strength to fight your battles, whatever they are.”

The Big Moon will hit the road supporting Pixies throughout September, and with Bombay Bicycle Club in January and February 2020. The full list of dates includes two nights at London’s Alexandra Palace.
