More about:

If you’ve ever wondered what the epitome of psych-rock sounds like, look no further than Temples and their new song, ‘You’re Either On Something’. The song encapsulates the genre in all of its glory, with production heaving with reverb and a buzzling bassline that rumbles underneath the dreamy canopy. As lead vocalist James Bagshaw hazily sings about how “confusion rocks the earth”, one can’t help but sit in the swirling smoke of exotic guitar riffs as  form mirrors content in this kaleidoscopic tale of uncertainty and surrealism.

Kevin Parker’s influence practically drips over the melody - and Bagshaw isn’t shy about his influences on the track, “I can hear influences of stuff that I listened to when I was growing up. There’s almost a nostalgia to that track, even though it’s very forward-looking”. It’s a song that not only characterises the psych-rock agenda, it celebrates every sound it has to offer. Temples’ upcoming album Hot Motion is an album that continues this revelry in sound, and it’s out on 27 September. Following on from the acclaimed albums Sun Structures in 2014 and Volcano in 201, Hot Motion promises to be a futuristic take on the band’s greatest influences.
