The Velvet Hands have today (12 June) unveiled new track ‘Don’t Be Nice To Me’.

A ramshackle and rollicking sonic punch that clocks in just under the two minute mark, it nods to early The Jam with astute rhythm and blues tendencies and a splash of Rolling Stones-esque backing vocals thrown in for good measure. You can listen to the track first on Gigwise below:

Speaking about the track the band say, “‘Don't Be Nice To Me’ captures the youthful frustration of being tied down to unwanted situations such as school, a relationship or a job, and looking for any reason to escape. It highlights the joy of saying no so you can enjoy pure personal freedom.”
