Bombay Bicycle Club's first announced gig since their return is a big one
10:53 19th February 2019

Robyn, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Groove Armada have been unveiled as headliners of the ninth ever Wilderness festival. Tickets for the Oxfordshire-based festival held 1 - 4 August 2019 have also been made available and details are below.

It's Bombay Bicycle Club's first announced gig since the band took a hiatus in 2016 and they will headline the Friday. The band announced they would make a return to stage and recording in January this year.

Robyn's playing a select few festivals this year and this marks the only UK one the acclaimed Swedish artist will play. It'll likely be the draw of the festival after her album titled Honey was so well received last year.

Electronic music legends Groove Armada, meanwhile, are veterans of the festival circuit and reliably will have the crowd eating out of their palm.

Elsewhere on the main stage at this oft-maligned for being overly posh but actually decent festival in beautiful surrounds there's an eclectic mix: Tom Odell / Caravan Palace / Tom Grennan / Freya Ridings / Ólafur Arnalds / George FitzGerald / Soak / Blanco White / Durand Jones & The Indications / Kawala / Oh my God! It’s the Church / Low Island / Cykada / Billy Jefferson / Cosmic Strip.

Highlights from the other stages include Ata Kak who are signed to the Awesome Tapes From Africa Label. Soho legends Ronnie Scott's are on site presenting the band Incognito. And the likes of Erol Alkan and Eats Everything will be keeping up the energy on the dance stage.

Being the complete antidote tothe run-of-the-mill grub often found at festivals, this year's banquet long table dining that'll cost you a ton is led by chefs Yossi ‘Papi’ Elad, James Knappett and Josh Katz (Berber & Q) who've a lot of respect in the restaurant industry we're told.
