It’s the third track taken from forthcoming LP Berkeley’s on Fire

Californian guitar-fiddlers SWMRS have submerged us in their new single ‘Trashbag Baby’, and it’s a continued move electronic-wards for the band with youthful abandon on lock. The new irresistible track foreshadows their second album ‘Berkeley’s On Fire’, which is out 15 February on Fueled by Ramen.

Speaking of Ramen, the riff on this one is a noodling affair, twisting around Cole and Max Beckers’ joint-vocal like only a truly competent indie banger can. The brothers trade hooky lyrics like it’s a grunge tennis match, shaking up a classic tale of the all-American break-up and the insults that come with it.

‘Trashbag Baby’ follows fellow singles, triples-heavy ’April in Houston’ and anthemic title-track ‘Berkeley’s On Fire’. This latest release premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, and will be played live from Maida Vale Studios tomorrow (16 January.)

SWMRS recently appeared in fellow West Coast band FIDLAR’s video for their new single ‘By Myself’ which you can see here - spot the SWMR!
