‘By Myself’’s accompanying video features lots of musicians drinking alone

Californian mischief-makers FIDLAR are here with ‘By Myself’, their fourth single from upcoming album release Almost Free, and it’s an arch guitar romp through one of the many moods the band are trying on in their new LP. Tune in for some electro-acoustic, ironic joviality.

The song’s opening lyrics - and artistic thrust - refer to, “cracking one open with the boys, by myself.” As such, the accompanying video, which you can watch below, features an extensive roster of fellow musicians drinking beverages - alone.

For starters, there’s FIDLAR themselves, with vocalist Zac Carper initiating a mass Skype-in. Soon, the four boys are joined on-screen by 20+ other musician friends, including SWMRS and Dave Catching of Eagles of Death Metal.

All-in-all, it’s a video that, like the melody, gives a totally carefree facade to the bleakness of the lyrics.

This is the final single ahead of Almost Free, out 25 January via Mom & Pop. FIDLAR will go on a tour of the Americas, with one show in London, this spring;
