The Strokes are making their eagerly-awaited comeback with an appearance at 2019’s Bilbao BBK Live. Confirmed for the Spanish event which takes place 11 - 13 July in Kobetamendi, Bilbao, they also join the likes of Thom Yorke, Suede, Sleaford Mods, Slaves, Shame and Idles.
Joining the already announced Weezer, the New York City juggernauts were the victim of a hoax gig in London earlier this summer, so it’s reassuring to have official confirmation of the quintet’s appearance, which will hopefully spur on some new music too.
Also notable on the line-up, Thom Yorke will be bringing his Tomorrow's Modern Boxes tour to the festival, joined by Nigel Godrich and video artist Tarik Barri, to perform songs from a variety of his solo albums.
When we went to sample the festival for ourselves in 2017, our writer said, “It’s a festival that brings in the big guns, and the slightly smaller guns, to whip the people of Bilbao (and further afield) into a frenzy.”
In alphabetical order the current, full line-up is;
