What’s It Like Over There? might well see the indie boys go sunny side-up again

Indie rockers Circa Waves are back, and to full sunny form, no less. They stormed back into the consciousness with the irresistible ‘Movies’ and its B Side ‘Be Somebody Good’ last week, and now: the announcement of a spring tour.

The lads will play some of our favourite UK venues next April, including Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, Sheffield’s Foundry and London’s really-rather-impressive Roundhouse.

The band have just emerged from some pretty intimate affairs, including at Tunbridge Wells’ Forum, so April’s shows are bound to be a roaring forth of pent-up energy.

On returning to the road, and some big stages, vocalist Kieran Shudall said, “Our April ’19 tour will include some of the biggest shows we have ever done! We will be putting on a show more epic and raucous than ever before, playing new songs from our brand album What’s It Like Over There?”

What’s It Like Over There? will be Circa Waves’ third full-length effort, and if the first taster ‘Movies’ is anything to go by, it’s going to be a mash-up of their catchy first, and tenacious second albums.

The single, which was debuted by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, is all kissing in dream scenes and bright, hair-shaking guitar notes. Just what we like about Circa Waves. If you want to do some raising of your hands to the ceiling in ecstasy (perhaps because the sun will have started to come back out by then) then get down to one of the following UK shows in April 2019:

15 - Oxford, O2 Academy
16 - Nottingham, Rock City
18 - Glasgow, Barrowland
19 - Manchester, Victoria Warehouse
20 - Sheffield, Foundry
23 - Birmingham, O2 Academy
25 - Bristol, O2 Academy 26 - London, Roundhouse
27 - Newcastle, University
