They’re touring the UK again in February 2019

Hirsute psych-surrealists Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are back with another finger-breaking acid trip through space. On new single ‘My Friend’s A Liquid’, the band prove once again that music, and the life that it imitates, needn’t make sense to be great.

With a fantastically-retro sampling of a fanfare kicking things off, this new psych-rock swing goes from bright spiralling notes to lilting breakdowns and back again via tripped out vocals and whimsical whistles and bike bells. It’s exactly the formula that had the Aussie’s significant fan base moshing themselves silly at The Shacklewell Arms in the summer. You can listen to it on Gigwise here:

With eerie samples à la The Avalanches pushing up close against the back of the instrumentals, it’s yet another cut of the pure stuff from a band that met through a mutual drug dealer.

The song comes with news that Psychedelic Porn Crumpets will be coming back to the UK for another tour in February. This time, they’ll be playing larger venues more in line with their popularity and chutzpah.

If you’re on the under-side of the globe, you can see them headline the exceptionally-titled Dr Noggin-Floggin & The Liquid Friends Festival in Perth a few days before Christmas, on December 22 at The Rousemount Hotel.

Keep your third eye peeled for more.
