Muse have branded George Michael’s gig at Wembley Stadium last weekend as “a joke.”

The band – who will play the famous football stadium themselves this weekend (June 16th/17th)  – were originally meant to be the opening act for the newly refurbished venue. However, Michael beat them to it with his June 9th and 10th performances.

According to dot music, Muse drummer Dominic Howard has insisted that his band’s performance will be “the pinnacle” specatacle at the new stadium.

He said: “George Michael doing Wembley is a joke. Who cares? Our show is going to be massive, it's the pinnacle."

The drummer also added, however, that despite his confidence,  he is nervous about the upcoming shows. "I've been very cocky about it behind closed doors. But I've been shitting myself about it as well."

The line up for Muses’ Wembley shows are as follows:

June 16

The Streets
Rodrigo Y Gabriela
Dirty Pretty Things

June 17

My Chemical Romance
Biffy Clyro
Shy Child
