Themes of summertime romance and teenage joy are all present on this new video from LUCIA, whose single ‘Summertime’ is an alt rock anthem.

With Arctic Monkeys and Adele producer Jim Abbiss at the helm, this song is a breezy, bittersweet tune, wistful enough surely for the coming autumn months.

Their song might have been produced by a big name, but this new video from Glaswegians LUCIA is a DIY job. Here you will see singer, guitarist Lucia Fairfull and guitar Hamish Finglands frolic in fields and lie about in swimming pools. They were caught on camera by friends Neelam Khan Vela and Connaire McCann (Baby Strange).

How sweet is that? Gives The Goon Sax a run for their money, in terms of lovelorn lyrics. Though according to the band there’s definitely some darkness underpinning the concept: "The video is 'a flash before your eyes' on the way to heaven. It is the end of a season, the end of a relationship, and the end of you.”

The band were seen being filmed in a 1950s style cafe for their single ‘Melted Ice Cream’ back in January.

If you like the sound of them, and the look of them from this new video, you can catch them this Thursday supporting The Vaccines as part of their Jack Daniel's Presents show in Manchester. It’s at a secret location though. If that doesn’t take your fancy, then you can catch them supporting We Are Scientists and Estrons on both their UK tours later this year. See some other tour dates below.

4 Oct — The Venue, Derby
6 Oct — Neighbourhood festival, Manchester
