The festival, which takes place from July 18-22, always boasts an unbelievable line-up of renowned and up and coming artists spanning rock, indie, hip-hop, electronica and reggae, as well as leading art installations. But this year's looks like a particularly talemnt packed bumper of an event, with cutting edge pop princess Jessie J, reggae royalty Damian Marley, London Grammar, Groove Armada, Richie Hawtin and Wolf Alice heading up the list of acts performing across seven different stages.
This summer will be Electric Castle's sixth as one of Europe's most spectacularly located festivals. Set in the grounds of an idyllic 15th century castle but also featuring a very 21st century tech park filled with the latest in VR and gaming, as well as yoga, film, food and many other traditional daytime festival activities.
Electric Castle is held in the spectacular Transylvanian grounds of Banffy Castle near Cluj-Napoca in Romania. The castle was desecrated and trashed by Nazi soldiers during world war two and proceeds from ticket sales to the festival go towards its ongoing rennovation. In past years it has boasted bands as The Prodigy, Skrillex, Deadmau5, alt-J, Franz Ferdinand, Bring Me The Horizon, Fatboy Slim, Sigur Ros, Bastille, Rudimental, Thievery Corporation and many others.
