Voting is open here, where you can choose your three favourite acts until 20 April - the top six acts will then be announced on 23 April.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Pirate Studios have enlisted the help of some of their muso mates to offer masterclasses to the finalists. This includes support from This Feeling founder Mikey Jonns, Radio X’s Head of Music Mike Walsh and David Bianchi and John Dawkins - the guys responsible for managing the likes of The Libertines and Charli XCX.

The Reverend, and new music advocate, Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers is just one of the competition’s many supporters. “It’s refreshing to see genuine opportunities for bands, like Pirate Studios’ Prodigy programme, and time and effort going into young people making good music instead of just wanting to be famous for its own ends. It’s proper, the way it should be.”

Pirate Studios co-founder David Borrie also says, “We have 25,000+ musicians in our community. A lot are producing amazing music. We find it incredible some of these guys aren’t already household names so we thought it would be awesome if we could be the ones to give them a helping hand.”
