X Factor winner Leona Lewis has secured the Christmas Number One slot with her debut single.

‘A Moment Like This’ topped the charts despite only going on sale on Wednesday.

Last week’s number one – Take That’s ‘Patience’ fell one place – whilst two rivals for the number one slot, McFly’s ‘Sorry’s Not Good Enough’ and Girls Aloud’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ only made three and four respectively.

The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl’s classic ‘Fairytale Of New York’ reached number six, whilst another Christmas re-release Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ - her biggest selling single ever - made number ten.

Christmas single stalwart Sir Cliff Richard came in at a disappointing number seven with his latest Yuletide offering, ‘21st Century Christmas’.

And may we take this opportunity to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas.
