Bluesky Research - ‘Fittest of the Fittest’ (Regal) Released 30/10/06

Bluesky Research combine Oasis guitars with echoey vocals for this retro slice of pomp-rock. Citing Love and Neil Young as influences they have attracted the attentions of fellow gloom merchant Ian Brown. Their spiking guitars have more in common with the melodiously melancholy Haven. Taking a trip into Beatles territory with ‘Good Fight’ Mexican mariachi trumpets vie for attention against chintzey harmonies.  Their sound is better suited to live performances where there roaming sound can go at full stretch on record it sounds too forced.
