Pete Doherty has been warned that he faces prison after pleading guilty to drugs charges in court today.

Doherty appeared at Thames Magistrates Court in London facing five counts of possessing drugs including heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

Sentencing will now take place on September 4 and Judge Alison Rose told the Babyshambles front man that her options "most definitely include the possibility of custody".

Until then he has been ordered to saty in London's Priory rehabilitation clinic.

The charges relate to Doherty’s arrest on three separate occasions on April 20 and 29 and then again on August 7.

He will also have his community order reviewed on the same date.
